Our Story
Established in late 2021, Kivu Choice is Rwanda's largest protein producer and Africa's fastest-growing fish farm. With a fully integrated system, we produce over 500,000 fish meals monthly, democratizing access to animal protein across the region.
In 2023, Kivu Choice raised $35 million in Series B funding—the largest in Africa's aquaculture industry—to expand operations in Rwanda and Kenya. This growth supports our mission to increase food security and sustainable protein production.
Kivu Choice's operations include a hatchery in Kigembe and commercial floating cages on Lake Kivu, contributing significantly to food security and employment. By 2026, we aim to produce over 50 million fish meals annually.
